The Borne Béton Grande by Nemo is a concrete outdoor floor lamp, conceived for the Unité d’habitation de Marseille and for Bhakra Dam, Sukhna Dam in India in 1952. An early experiment in the use of concrete for a collection of lamps along the lines of Brutalist architecture. Raw, spartan concrete is combined with a built-in LED source, combining different volumes emphasised by light. Each lamp is a handcrafted product: small aesthetic and finishing differences between one lamp and the other make them unique.
